COOKING FOR THE FAMILY
Ever wondered how to make a healthy meal for a family of four under $15? Developed by Farm Chef, Cooking for the Family is a 5-week program for individuals and families focused on increasing the knowledge of healthy food choices and culinary skills.
Students learn eight basic cooking skills and techniques utilizing fresh and healthy ingredients, build their knowledge and confidence to cook more at home, and learn where and how to shop cost effectively for these ingredients. In doing so, Cooking for the Family is helping adults to live and cook healthier for their families in an effort to generationally prevent or decrease diabetes, obesity, and/or chronic health problems related to diet.
Graduates of the series receive a cast iron pan and kitchen tools so they may continue putting what they’ve learned into practice.
